'Remember God' this one's for my single friends

Have you come across Annie F. Downs yet? She is one of the most authentic authors, speakers and podcasters I have connected with ... and she is one for the single girls!

Alongside her many books, is this gem. She's a storyteller, she's a teacher, she's a massive encourager and she's also a single woman in the Christian church doing her best to navigate the complex feelings that brings. Simply put, she 'gets it!'

She's even just released a Patreon package through her podcast 'That Sounds Fun' to create an online community just for single men and women called the 'Single Purpose League' to which over 20,000 were interested.

So ... what's the book recommendation?

Remember God book cover

Annie writes ... 'I know God is loving; I know He is good; I believe He is big and powerful. But sometimes I wonder if He is really kind - really deeply always kind.

This is my story - of wrestling with our God who gives a limp and a blessing. A God who is always kind even when my circumstances feel the opposite.

This isn't just a book for single people, though Annie's story is one of struggle in that area. It's a story of wrestling with the struggle so many of us feel when life just doesn't look like what we thought it would be.

I first read this book when it was released in 2018, and I needed it then. So much of Annie's story and the way she has framed her feelings has resonated with me deeply. So few people are willing to share their story of singleness in the church, particularly when you're a public figure or when you're in a position of leadership.

Singleness is tricky. It's often a cycle of contentment, frustration, loneliness, depression, anger, discontentment, numbness, revelation, back round to some resemblance of contentment.

Allow one of my friends ... well I kind of consider her my friend ... to speak into your life and offer hope and companionship on your journey towards Jesus.
